Pursuing Theatricality
6pm, Monday 18th November 2024
It’s important for all of us to never take our understanding of what a play is for granted. Whilst a play can seem quite obvious to define on the surface, it can become slightly more elusive on closer inspection – and certainly in practice! What makes a piece of writing purely theatrical, demanding live performance?
Join award-winning playwright and screenwriter Beth Steel as she explores how imagery, story and theatricality are intrinsically linked. Steel will drill into two of her own critically acclaimed plays THE HOUSE OF SHADES & TIL THE STARS COME DOWN to share her process of being bold with imagery. This livestream workshop will empower your sense of theatrical imagination and bravery.
Simply head to the homepage of this website www.writeaplay.co.uk at 6pm Monday 18th November to join – we will be taking questions from our online audience throughout! Don’t worry if you can’t make it live, the recorded workshop will be archived and made available on a webpage afterwards.
