REPOST- Live online workshop with Anna Jordan on redrafting

During this public health emergency, the safety and wellbeing of our staff, artists, audiences and families comes first.

We are exploring ways in which we can all remain connected and optimistic. The Bruntwood Prize has always been about much more than the winners. It is about opening up playwriting to anyone and everyone, to support anyone interested in playwriting to explore the unique power of creative expression. Therefore we want to make this website a resource now for anyone and everyone to explore theatre and plays and playwriting.

So we will be highlighting the many different resources archived on this website over the coming weeks.

Anna Jordan joined us live on Tuesday 19 May from 6.00pm – 8.00pm for our fifth and final writers workshop of 2015.  Read the Storify here and watch the workshop below.

Watch winner of the 2013 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, Anna Jordan, looking at the work of re-drafting your script. Anna looks at techniques to help you prepare your script and challenge you to interrogate what makes something theatrical. She explores the Prize strapline “Create Your Own Stage” in terms of creating a text for performance and will look at the journey of her award-winning play YEN from winning the Prize to the critically acclaimed production at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
