Joanna Murray-Smith’s plays have been produced all over the world. Her plays include American Song, Switzerland, Pennsylvania Avenue, Fury, True Minds, Songs for Nobodies, Day One – A Hotel – Evening, The Gift, Rockabye, The Female of the Species, Ninety, Bombshells, Rapture, Nightfall, Redemption, Flame, Love Child, Atlanta, Honour and Angry Young Penguins. She has also adapted Hedda Gabler for the State Theatre Company of South Australia and Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage for Sir Trevor Nunn in London.

Her three novels are Truce, Judgement Rock and Sunnyside. Her opera libretti include Love in the Age of Therapy and The Divorce, recently screened on ABC TV. Joanna has also written for many publications and for the screen. U.S. Variety described her as “Australia’s foremost female playwright”.
