The Lost Poetry Club, an audio zine podcast diving into the bizarre, absurd, and eerie, is looking for a talented writer to help craft the meta-narrative of our show. If you’re inspired by the strange and atmospheric, with influences like Welcome to Night Vale, Alice Is Dead, The Magnus Archives, and Twin Peaks, this could be the perfect project for you.
About The Role:
We’re looking for a writer who can blend humor, depth, and darkness. You’ll work closely with the show’s creator to develop ideas and write 5-15 minutes of content per episode across 10 planned episodes, following a slow-burn narrative with moments of absurdity, poignancy, and creepiness.
You’ll also help write ads, pre-rolls, and post-rolls to keep the tone consistent throughout the show.
What We’re Looking For:
- A writer passionate about dark, fantastical storytelling.
- Someone who can craft absurd, humorous, and disturbing content that aligns with the show’s vibe.
- A collaborator ready to work closely with the show’s creator to develop and deliver high-quality writing.
- An interest in podcast storytelling with a flair for eerie and emotionally resonant narratives.
Who This Role Is Perfect For:
- Writers who love exploring the absurd, the strange, and the dark.
- Creatives looking to contribute to a podcast that pushes boundaries and experiments with form.
- Storytellers with a knack for balancing humor and emotional depth.
- Someone looking for a long-term collaboration with the possibility of a revenue share or payment in the future.
What You’ll Gain:
- The opportunity to shape the narrative of a unique, genre-bending podcast.
- Collaboration with a passionate creative team in the early stages of a growing project.
- Experience in writing for audio, including ads and narrative elements that tie into a larger story arc.
- While this is a volunteer position, if the project generates revenue, a profit-share or payment options will be considered.
