Salford based theatre & film production company, Divided Culture Co., have launched the DCC Playwriting Prize 2025.

Open to playwrights who have an unperformed, full-length play and were born and/or live in the North West, the prize awards the winning playwright £1000, as well as production of their play for its first public performances. The prize forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to championing regional voices and new stories. The aim of the prize is to breathe life into an unperformed play, providing a platform for writers at any experience level to bring their story to regional audiences.

To submit to the prize, applicants must firstly complete the application form. Then, they must email playwriting@dividedcultureco.com with their play in a PDF file titled ‘Writer name + Name of Play’.
