Bruntwood Prize winning play premiere in Royal Exchange new season

The Royal Exchange Theatre’s Spring Summer Season has been announced and it includes two of the 2013 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting winning plays!

Playing alongside ANNA KARENINA is 2013 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting winner THE ROLLING STONE by Chris Urch (Kenyon Institute Fellowship winner). This world premiere tells a very different story of lovers at odds with society. Dembe and Sam have been seeing each other for a while. But they’re gay and this is Uganda, and the consequences of their relationship being discovered will be violent and explosive.

The World Premiere of the THE ROLLING STONE plays in The Theatre in repertoire with ANNA KARENINA. It will run from Tuesday 21 April – Friday 1 May.

In The Studio is the 2013 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting Winner – YEN by Anna Jordan – which explores a childhood lived without boundaries and the consequences of being forced to grow up on your own.

The World Premiere of YEN plays in The Studio from Wednesday 18 February to Saturday 7 March.
