Arts and culture are the lifeblood of our cities, transforming urban spaces into vibrant communities where creativity thrives and diversity is celebrated. Beyond the confines of theatre, the arts influence everything from public spaces and architecture to music, literature, and visual arts, enriching the everyday lives of residents and visitors alike. They foster a sense of identity and belonging, encourage dialogue, and inspire innovation, making our cities more dynamic, inclusive, and resilient. By supporting and celebrating artistic endeavors like the Bruntwood Prize, we not only nurture individual talent but also contribute to the cultural fabric that makes our cities unique and alive.

So whether you’re a budding playwright, an avid theatre-goer, or simply curious about the magic behind the scenes, this event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate creativity, innovation, and the stories that connect us all.

Nathan Queeley-Dennis shared his excitement:

“I’m thrilled to bring BULLRING TECHNO MAKEOUT JAMZ to the Royal Exchange Theatre. Our journey began here with the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting in 2022. Though I’m not from Manchester, this feels like a homecoming for the play. An extract was performed at the ceremony, and the feeling in the room was electric, you could really feel it living in the space. I’ll never forget that moment or feeling, and I can’t wait to bring that electricity back to that room, bringing the 0121 to the 0161.”
